We started the day with a quick breakfast and then got on
the bus around 8:15 a.m.. After picking
up the crew, we headed out for what would be a 10 hour bus ride!
Nothing too crazy happened on the bus, other than getting to
see some incredible views, a bus sing-a-long to a best-of-Britney Spears CD
(that I won at the local fair during Syttende Mai), and the passing around of a
love note that Dana gave Tara! It was interesting
to see how emotional Dana and Tara had gotten for each other, but it was still
strange knowing that she was married.
Plus, we all noticed that she is now wearing his necklace! Strange.
Our bus and home for the next 10 hours! |
Eventually, we got to a city called Stranda, a small town on
the side of a fjord. Immediately, we
watched as one of the directors, Kristopher, and Henriette’s make-up artist,
Carina, went to the fjord for a swim! It
looked like so much fun that it inspired the rest of us. After a quick dinner, Tara, Jessica, Barbara,
Johnathan, Austin and I decided we should do it too! At 9:00 p.m., we all took turns jumping in
with Austin and I doing a back flip from about 4 meters above water, off of a
pier! It was incredibly cold, with water
probably about 5oC (40oF), it literally took your breath
away. I was messing around in it,
swimming the backstroke and taking my time, when I noticed that I was getting
short of breath. It was time to get out! However, it wasn’t long before I wanted to
get right back in, so I took another run and did a swan dive in! It was an incredible experience and was
topped off with the beauty of snow covered mountains all around us! Awesome!
The only downside was discovering that our numb bodies didn’t feel the
barnacles on all of the rocks that we were climbing, only to discover the sting
of small cuts all over our hands and legs shortly after, once we started
warming up. Still, definitely worth it!
The six of us to first jump in a fjord! Man it was cold!! |
After the fjord, we all went swimming in the hotel pool for
about an hour, had an information session with our Mama, and then to bed. Tonight, due to the uneven numbers of men, I
get the room to myself! Nice! Goodnight!
Day 28 Over!

A shot of Monster's office building.
While we waited for the crew, we took
a short walk and discoverd this, apparently-
famous squatters building.
This was the sign outside of the building.
Another look at some of the views that we were
able to witness during our bus ride! Beautiful!
Just another behind-the-scenes type shot of what
our traveling was like. A great way to travel!
We were practically glued to the
windows for a ton of photos!
We found this sign in the hotel lobby.
We weren't sure what it said at the time,
but thought it may give us a clue to what
our challenge would be. We took a photo
of it, just in case it was removed (which
we noticed it was gone 10 minutes later).
Director Kristopher and Assistant
Carina about to jump in!
They weren't in long, but it was
enough to earn my respect!!
Kristopher went in for a second time!
Austin had woken up with some back/neck
issues. This was some kind of icy/hot or
something that was applied to help. Not sure
if it did, but was pretty funny to see!
